Using these different components required being able to understand the different functionalities of each component.

Above we can see the flow of output throughout the circuit as it goes through the major components

Functionality of the Circuit:

Step down Transformer – Converts high-voltage, low-current power into low-voltage, high-current power

Bridge Rectifier - Takes the AC  from the transformer and converts it to DC  output

Filters - Filters out the frequency/range of frequencies that come from the circuit

Relay - Current operates the electromagnetic switch. This controls the movement of the gate

Voltage Regulator - Maintains a fixed voltage level throughout the circuit. The 7805, that we will use, has a 5V regulated power supply

Transistors - Once the load drops across the diodes, the transistors can conduct. Once the load gets disconnected, one of the transistors is cut off.

The relay will become de-energized, which switches off the main input.

After figuring out the flow of the circuit, a schematic was built so that the circuit could be built on a breadboard. This schematic shows the flow of the circuit and gives you a good look at which components make connections and where.

This schematic can be seen on the right side of the page.

After creating the schematic and order all of the components that were needed, I was able to build the circuit on the breadboard. The final design implementation is what was used for testing and can be seen on the left.

You can see the different connections between the components and can see the flow of the circuit in real time.

This final design can also be seen on the homepage.
